Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Hornets vs. Van Buren Crusaders

The Ashland Hornets will face off against the Van Buren Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 16 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Ashland and seven for Van Buren dating back to last season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-20, which was the final score in Ashland's tilt against Southern Aroostook last Monday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Warriors are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-29, which was the final score in Van Buren's tilt against Washburn on Friday.

Van Buren's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Ashland took their win against Van Buren in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 56-34. Will Ashland repeat their success, or does Van Buren have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
