J.H. Rose won the last time they faced New Bern, and Kahrin Highsmith did her part to make sure it happened again. The J.H. Rose Rampants came out on top against the New Bern Bears by a score of 50-40 on Friday thanks in part to Highsmith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played.

J.H. Rose has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 15.25 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 15.25 in the others. As for New Bern, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

J.H. Rose and New Bern could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. J.H. Rose will face off against Northside - Pinetown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 171 places (335 vs. 164). Meanwhile, New Bern (ranked 415th) will meet D.H. Conley (ranked 123rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
