Recap: Rosewood Eagles vs. Princeton Bulldogs
Even though the Rosewood Eagles have not done well against the Princeton Bulldogs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rosewood strolled past Princeton with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. The win was familiar territory for Rosewood who now have four in a row.
Rosewood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cam Medlin out in front who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Lamm, who scored 20 points along with 5 assists.
Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Landon Murphy, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Murphy has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Jordyn Gaines was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Even though they lost, Princeton were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosewood only pulled down five.
Rosewood's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rosewood will challenge North Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Johnston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Rosewood likes a good challenge. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to face off against C.B. Aycock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. C.B. Aycock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Princeton in North Carolina (C.B. Aycock is ranked 206th, while Princeton is ranked 470th).
