Basketball Recap: West Potomac Comes Up Short

On Friday, the West Potomac Wolverines came up short against the Fleming Colonels and fell 48-39. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Colonels are ranked 51st).

West Potomac's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fleming, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Potomac will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodson at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Fleming will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against William Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
