Basketball Recap: Oak Forest Comes Up Short

Oak Forest played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 88-59 defeat at the hands of the South Wake Sabres. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-35 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Forest lost, don't look at Tyler Woolard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Woolard has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Hunter, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points.

South Wake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thomas Williams, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points. Noah Wright was another key player, putting up 16 points and five rebounds.

Oak Forest has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-9 record this season. As for South Wake, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
