Baseball Game Preview: Redondo Union Sea Hawks vs. El Segundo Eagles

For the second straight game, Redondo Union will face off against El Segundo. The Sea Hawks will square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Redondo Union is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Redondo Union is returning to their home field after beating El Segundo on theirs, despite the fact El Segundo has dominated at home this season. The Sea Hawks came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Sea Hawks have beaten the Eagles on their field since March 7, 2020.

Jack Green tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has become a key player for Redondo Union: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jackson Sola was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of KG Hattori, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Redondo Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Redondo Union pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for El Segundo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-5-1.
