Recap: Golden Demons vs. Conifer Lobos

The Golden Demons won the last time they faced the Conifer Lobos, and things went their way on Friday too. Golden simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conifer 77-38 on the road. Given Golden's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Conifer is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Golden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Slade Pike, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Sieber, who scored 16 points.

Despite the loss, Conifer still got an impressive performance from Issac Pratt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Zitkus, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Golden's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Conifer, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Golden and D'Evelyn will face off at 11:30 a.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in D'Evelyn's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Conifer, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eagle Valley at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Conifer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
