Baseball Recap: Sidney Triumphs

While Sidney put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Harpursville. The Team walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Hornets. That's more bragging rights for the Team, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Quinton Beckwith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over 6.2 innings pitched. Beckwith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Beckwith wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The win got Sidney back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sidney will venture away from home to challenge Norwich at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harpursville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bainbridge-Guilford at 10:00 a.m. on the 12th.
