Softball Recap: Tough Loss for Mullen

Mullen unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Resurrection Christian Cougars on Wednesday, falling 19-10.

Anna Mailo was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 while logging 3 doubles, 3 RBI, and 2 runs.

Even though they lost, Mullen kept the fielders on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the best they've done in that category all season.

The victory (which was Resurrection Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mullen will take on Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Resurrection Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Thompson Valley at 4:00 p.m.
