            Basketball Preview: Chesterton Trojans vs. Portage Indians        
        
		
        
        
            The Chesterton Trojans will head out to  square off against the Portage Indians  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Chesterton will be strutting in after a  win while Portage will be coming in after a  defeat.
Last Tuesday, Chesterton didn't have too much trouble with Washington Township  as they won  49-33. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Trojans.
  Kenedi Bradley continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  going 6 for 15 on her way to 15  points in addition to five  assists and five  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Novea Brandon, who  posted seven points and four  steals.
 Meanwhile, Portage was beaten by Hammond Morton 58-16 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 217th, while the Governors are ranked 45th).
 Chesterton's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Portage,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-5.
 Everything went Chesterton's way against Portage in their previous matchup  back in December of 2023, as Chesterton made off with  a  64-40 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Portage's  Alante Wright, who  had 17 points in addition to five  rebounds and three  steals. Now that she won't be playing  on Friday, will it be easier for Chesterton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
