Basketball Recap: Honesdale Takes a Loss

Honesdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mid Valley Spartans. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mid Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Demaja Dunston, who posted eight points. What's more, Dunston also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jakob Lesher, who put up seven points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Honesdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mid Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Coming up, Honesdale will face off against Dunmore at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mid Valley, they will challenge Old Forge at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
