Softball Recap: Monroe Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against Barnesville

Monroe Central scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Barnesville Shamrocks by a score of 16-15. The defeat continues a trend for the Seminoles in their meetings with the Shamrocks: they've now lost three in a row.

Allie McFredrick put in work no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McFredrick was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Jauna McElroy led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Maclarin Craft, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Monroe Central now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Barnesville, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe Central will venture away from home to square off against Caldwell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Barnesville, they will face off against Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
