Basketball Recap: Oakley Browning's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manila over Wendover

Manila lost against Wendover back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 60-54 to the Wildcats.

Manila's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oakley Browning, who posted 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kassali Wahl, who earned 17 points and three steals.

Among those leading the charge was Phoenix DuBoise, who went 9-for-17 on her way to 23 points. Millie Hicks was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Manila's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wendover, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Manila and Wendover will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Mustangs see the court they'll take on Maeser Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 5. As for Wendover, their break will end when they face West Wendover at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
