Basketball Recap: Meredith Sizemore Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dixie Heights, East Central was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rushville Lions with a sharp 52-29 victory. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 37-34 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

East Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Meredith Sizemore, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Sizemore a new career-high. Natalie Stenger was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

East Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rushville only pulled down three offensive boards.

Rushville's loss came despite strong showings from Trisha Morgan and Kelsey Morgan. Trisha earned 11 points, while Kelsey put up five points. Trisha continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

East Central now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Rushville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

East Central has already played their next match (against Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rushville has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Seymour.
