Volleyball Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Gets the Win

Deer Creek-Mackinaw posted their closest win since October 22, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Lena-Winslow Panthers 2-1. This was payback for the Chiefs, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Lena-Winslow had strong showings from Brianna Fye, who had 11 digs, and Kieryn Getz, who had five digs.

The victory got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 13-13. As for Lena-Winslow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw will be playing at home against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lena-Winslow, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Olympia on the 4th.
