Basketball Recap: Ooltewah Sets Scoring Season-High Against Howard Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ooltewah). They were the clear victor by a 77-56 margin over the Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Owls sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Ooltewah was led to victory by Aleigha Taylor and Allie Tipton. Taylor almost dropped a double-double with 37 points and nine steals, while Tipton dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten assists. The game was Taylor's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Jaeda Tucker was another key player, putting up four points and seven steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Ooltewah was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in five consecutive matchups.

Ooltewah now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Howard Tech, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Ooltewah will take on Soddy Daisy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Soddy Daisy will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Ooltewah surely won't give up without a fight. Howard Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
