Soccer Game Preview: Pasadena vs. Fontana

The Pasadena Bulldogs will take on the Fontana Steelers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pasadena comes in on 17 and Fontana on three.

If Pasadena beats Fontana with two goals on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Pasadena beat Muir by a goal, winning 2-1. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Mustangs are ranked 466th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roberto Martinez-Cortez and David Vieyra scored both of Pasadena's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, Fontana was able to grind out a solid victory over Rialto on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

Pasadena pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those nine contests. As for Fontana, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5-1.
