Basketball Recap: New Palestine Finds Playoff Glory Versus Brownstown Central

New Palestine had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Brownstown Central Braves with a 47-43 victory on Saturday. The 47-point effort marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Palestine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julius Gizzi, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. The game was Gizzi's 31st in a row with at least 15 points. Ben Slagley was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

New Palestine is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. Brownstown Central moved to 24-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

New Palestine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-49 loss against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks on the 22nd. Brownstown Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
