Soccer Recap: Mater Dei Comes Up Short

Mater Dei was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins, falling 8-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mater Dei of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Mater Dei's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Father McGivney Catholic, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Dei is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will head out to take on O'Fallon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
