Baseball Recap: Springs Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Wood Memorial on Monday, Springs Valley came back down to earth. The Blackhawks fell 9-5 to the Salem Lions on Wednesday. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Blake Buchanan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Manny Pantoja, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Springs Valley dropped their record down to 4-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Salem, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springs Valley will face off against West Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem, they will square off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
