The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers will face off against the Arcadia Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waynesfield-Goshen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Waynesfield-Goshen took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Ridgedale, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rockets 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Tarynn Vorhes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tatelyn Faraglia, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Liberty Glaser was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Arcadia didn't have quite enough to beat Ada on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Arcadia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Allyson McCartney also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Waynesfield-Goshen's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Waynesfield-Goshen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Arcadia struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Waynesfield-Goshen might still be hurting after the 20-3 loss they got from Arcadia in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
