Softball Game Preview: Frost Polar Bears vs. Meridian Yellowjackets

The Frost Polar Bears will challenge the Meridian Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Frost and 15 for Meridian dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Frost after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 15-3 to Hico.

Mayson Souder was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Heidee Hearn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Meridian came up short against Italy on Friday, falling 27-2.

Meridian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mailey Padgett, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Frost, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Frost has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Meridian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Frost was able to grind out a solid victory over Meridian in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 21-18. Will the Polar Bears repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
