Softball Recap: Ocean City's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ocean City proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Egg Harbor Township Eagles 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on four straight.

Brooke Douglas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ocean City's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Leah Catto, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Carlee Hiddemen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ocean City's record now sits at 10-4. As for Egg Harbor Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Ocean City will be playing in front of their home fans against Millville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Egg Harbor Township, they will head out to challenge Cedar Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
