Baseball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Prout Crusaders

The Toll Gate Titans will square off against the Prout Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Toll Gate has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Toll Gate is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They lost 11-4 to Burrillville.

Geoffrey Laliberte put in work no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Laliberte was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, Jack Colvin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Salzillo, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Prout never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against East Greenwich on Thursday. They blew past the Avengers 12-2. The Crusaders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Prout let Dylan Delgado and Andrew Nowell run wild. Delgado went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Nowell went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Nowell a new career-high. Gavin McCoy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Prout was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Toll Gate's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Prout, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
