Basketball Recap: Forsyth Country Day Falls Despite Big Games from Gigi Lyons and Lila Kelly

Forsyth Country Day lost against Greensboro Day School back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Forsyth Country Day Furies took a hard 63-45 fall against the Greensboro Day School Bengals. While losing is never fun, the Furies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Bengals are ranked 43rd).

Forsyth Country Day's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lila Kelly, who posted 15 points, and Gigi Lyons, who put up 13 points. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mary Grace Antosek, who earned six points.

Forsyth Country Day moved to 5-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Greensboro Day School, their record now sits at 14-6.

Forsyth Country Day will look to defend their home court on Friday against GRACE Christian at 5:30 p.m. As for Greensboro Day School, they will head out to square off against Charlotte Country Day School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
