Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Academy Eagles vs. Newark Catholic Green Wave

The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Newark Catholic Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberty Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Northside Christian. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Elijah Wickline was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Seth Mollohan also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Newark Catholic waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 10-5. Ten seems to be a good number for the Green Wave as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Newark Catholic pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
