Basketball Game Preview: Crawford County Wolfpack vs. New Washington Mustangs

The Crawford County Wolfpack will challenge the New Washington Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crawford County is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Crawford County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a blow against Tell City on Saturday, falling 85-54. The Wolfpack were down 68-43 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Crawford County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Braxton Bowman went 9 of 17 en route to 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Seibert, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Crawford County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, New Washington came up short against Madison on Saturday, falling 80-59. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Crawford County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Crawford County strolled past New Washington in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-29. Does Crawford County have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Washington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
