Basketball Preview: Calvary Academy Warrior vs. Gloucester County Christian Conquerors
Calvary Academy and the Conquerors are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Calvary Academy Warrior will be playing at home against the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Calvary Academy can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They strolled past Cumberland Christian with points to spare, taking the game 43-24. Calvary Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Calvary Academy found their leader in underclassman Made Leppard, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leppard has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abby Nelson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Gloucester County Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the on Friday, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory.
Calvary Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4. As for Gloucester County Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Calvary Academy was taken down by the Conquerors 60-18 in their previous matchup back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Calvary Academy was down 34-4.
