Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. Eastside Rams
The Fivay Falcons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Eastside Rams at 2:10 p.m. on December 29th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 45-15 stomp they got on the road against Plant City.
Fivay can attribute much of their success to Malia Shuler, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Melany Garcia, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals.
Meanwhile, Eastside entered their tilt with Winthrop College Prep Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Eastside wrapped up 2023 with a 56-38 win over Winthrop College Prep Academy. Given Eastside's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Winthrop College Prep Academy is ranked 373rd), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fivay's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Eastside, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
