Cactus Shadows posted their closest win since March 15th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saguaro Sabercats 6-5. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Sabercats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

Dallas Dunn looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cactus Shadows let Henry Verhamme and Owen Konerko run wild. Verhamme scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Konerko went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Keyen Marquez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Cactus Shadows was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saguaro only posted a batting average of .259.

Cactus Shadows has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-1-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. Saguaro's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-7-1.

Cactus Shadows will have a chance to go back-to-back against Saguaro: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
