Basketball Recap: Victory Baptist Academy Skates Past Covenant with Ease

On Saturday, the Victory Baptist Academy Saints humbled the Covenant Eagles with a 67-28 victory. With the Saints ahead 40-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Victory Baptist Academy was led to victory by Jada O'Neal and Grace Ward. O'Neal posted 19 points and five assists, while Ward had 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydan Mooney, who earned seven points and ten boards.

Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Elk Valley Christian has won four straight at home, while Victory Baptist Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Covenant, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Victory Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
