Softball Recap: Gregori Takes a Loss

Merced hit Gregori with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Bears, falling 12-3. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

NeVaeh Scheper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Gregori's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Merced, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4-1.

Gregori and Merced should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Jaguars (ranked 412th) will meet Modesto (ranked 945th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Merced will challenge Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (187 vs. 625).
