Baseball Game Preview: Stanley-Boyd Orioles vs. Stratford Tigers

The Stanley-Boyd Orioles will face off against the Stratford Tigers on Tuesday. Stanley-Boyd will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Stanley-Boyd got the win against Regis by a conclusive 13-2. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Orioles yet this season.

Meanwhile, Stratford got themselves on the board against Colfax on Thursday, but Colfax never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by eight runs or more this season.

Christian Rehm made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Rehm was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Vance Kielman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Remus, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Stratford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Stanley-Boyd, their record is now 6-13.

Stanley-Boyd might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Stratford in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Orioles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
