Basketball Recap: Chambers Takes a Loss

Chambers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 73-31 defeat at the hands of the Mallard Creek Mavericks. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.

Kiara Anderson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mallard Creek, going 13 of 19 en route to 33 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was My?Asia Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Chambers' loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mallard Creek, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambers won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Charlotte Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mallard Creek has already played their next match (against West Charlotte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
