The Eagle Pass Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the United South Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Pass is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Eagle Pass can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over Laredo LBJ.
It was another big night for Andres Villarreal, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 317 yards and three touchdowns. Sebastian Diaz also helped out with an impressive 138 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 32 points the game before, United South were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost to Alexander on the road by a decisive 21-7 margin.
Eagle Pass' victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for United South, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Eagle Pass came up short against United South when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 34-28. Thankfully for Eagle Pass, Brandon Benavides (who rushed for 282 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
