Mt. Vernon has gone a perfect 9-0 against Anderson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Marauders will square off against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Mt. Vernon didn't have quite enough to beat Lawrence North and fell 4-3.

Mt. Vernon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graci Hines, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Kokomo, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten runs.

Alli Southerland was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Mt. Vernon has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Everything went Mt. Vernon's way against Anderson when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Mt. Vernon made off with a 20-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
