Recap: Selinsgrove Seals vs. Wilkes-Barre
After a string of three wins, the Selinsgrove Seals's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Wilkes-Barre. Selinsgrove was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wilkes-Barre apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Selinsgrove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ries Naugle. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. The game was Naugle's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jace Diehl was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Selinsgrove's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Wilkes-Barre, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Selinsgrove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mifflinburg at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Wilkes-Barre, they will head out on the road to face off against Wallenpaupack Area at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
