Baseball Recap: Eaglecrest Comes Up Short

Eaglecrest dropped their record down to 6-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Cherry Creek Bruins, falling 7-0. Considering the last time the Raptors couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Cherry Creek, they pushed their record up to 9-4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They haven't had any issues with Eaglecrest recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

For Cherry Creek's part, Wyatt Rudden looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Rudden has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Owen Elser was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Eli Rose was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

While Eaglecrest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
