Basketball Recap: ASU Prep Takes a Loss

ASU Prep lost against East Valley Athletes for Christ back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The ASU Prep Sun Devils came up short against the East Valley Athletes for Christ Eagles, falling 54-32. The Sun Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Michael Sorensen had a dynamite game for East Valley Athletes for Christ, going 7 for 15 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Sorensen, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

ASU Prep dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ASU Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, they will be playing in front of their home fans against ASU Prep Poly at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
