Basketball Recap: King's Christian Academy Takes a Loss

King's Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 50-14 loss at the hands of the Faith Christian Warriors. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.

Leading Faith Christian to victory were Matthew Burton and John Whitmore. Burton went 7 for 17 en route to 18 points and six steals, while Whitmore almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Ridge, who posted six points and three steals.

King's Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Faith Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

King's Christian Academy will be playing at home against Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Faith Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-35 win against Roanoke Valley Christian on the 11th.
