Hewlett waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Malverne Mules. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 24-2 back in March.

Coralia Savin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Alyssa Reich was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Emily Bransdorfer also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Hewlett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive games.

Hewlett's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Malverne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Hewlett will host Roosevelt at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Malverne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
