Basketball Recap: Isaiah Price's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Paul's Prep over Azle Christian

St. Paul's Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders. The match marked the Lions 's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Price, who posted five points in addition to six boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Wood, who had a point and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, St. Paul's Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

St. Paul's Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Azle Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

St. Paul's Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 29-27 victory against Grace Christian Academy on the 14th. As for Azle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-14 win against St. Paul's Prep on the 14th.
