Volleyball Recap: Pagosa Springs Pirates vs. Kirtland Central Broncos
Pagosa Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Kirtland Central Broncos. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Kirtland Central scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.
Lexi Campbell paced Pagosa Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Campbell got some help from Hayden Peterson and her 24 assists. Tatiana Monterroso controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Pagosa Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Kirtland Central, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, Pagosa Springs will host Montezuma-Cortez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kirtland Central, they are taking a road trip to take on Grants at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
