The Lincoln East Spartans will take on the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lincoln East was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lincoln Northeast on Monday. The Spartans blew past the Rockets 11-1. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Trevor Roach looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joey Senstock was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter McPeak, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Lincoln East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with an 8-2 win.
Huston Beran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Skutt Catholic got a big performance out of Joe Kolega, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Kolega has hit this season. Gage Guenther was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Skutt Catholic pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln East, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Lincoln East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Skutt Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lincoln East took their win against Skutt Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-5 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the SkyHawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
