Basketball Recap: Marist Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marist can now relate to. They lost to the North Oconee Titans on the road by a 79-61 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Titans are ranked eighth).

Marist's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for North Oconee, the victory was the 25th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-2.

Marist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Oconee, they will face off against Mays at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mays knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 contests -- so hopefully North Oconee likes a good challenge.
