Volleyball Game Preview: Bloomfield Warhawks vs. Academy of International Studies Dragons

The Bloomfield Warhawks will face off against the Academy of International Studies Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bloomfield has struggled recently with 15 defeats in a row, while Academy of International Studies will arrive with four straight wins.

Bloomfield lost 3-0 to Simsbury on Monday.

Meanwhile, Academy of International Studies beat East Windsor 3-1 on Monday.

Academy of International Studies walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 18-25, 25-16, 25-20.

Academy of International Studies' win came from a few key players Bloomfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lisa Weinberg, who had eight digs and six aces. Weinberg is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Angie Zuluaga- Gonzalez, who had 22 digs and two aces.

Academy of International Studies was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Academy of International Studies, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
