Basketball Game Preview: Davie County War Eagles vs. West Mecklenburg Hawks

The Davie County War Eagles and the West Mecklenburg Hawks will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Davie County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Thursday, Davie County lost to Hough at home by a 73-55 margin. The contest marked the War Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Davie County got top-tier performance from Noah Dulin, who went 9-for-19 en route to 22 points along with eight boards and three steals. Dulin's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Swisher, who shot 83% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when West Mecklenburg duked it out with Rocky River on Friday. The Hawks fell 59-55 to the Ravens. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Davie County fell to 6-1. As for West Mecklenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
