Two dominant backs in Danarri Brown and Christian Monfort are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Jackson Red Devils and the Morgan County Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Jackson strolled past Pike County with points to spare, taking the game 27-13. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jackson had a senior duo take command as Jaison McCall picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Canaan Bernhardt threw for 164 yards and a pair of TDs. Bernhardt's passing game has become a key predictor of the Red Devils' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Jackson proved: they limited Pike County to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Micah Cook for the heroic effort on defense: he. Jackson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.1.
Jackson's defense didn't let Brayden O'Connell, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Braylon Dawe, Asher Upchurch, and Torrie Pinkins, who each picked up one sack apiece. Cook was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles and snagged an interception.
Meanwhile, Morgan County blew past Rutland, posting a 60-27 victory. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Morgan County's win came from a few key players Jackson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davis Strickland, who threw for 208 yards and four TDs. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Morgan County's leading receiver Ty Tillery was Strickland's top target yet again, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Jackson picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Morgan County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Jackson took a serious blow against Morgan County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 36-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Strickland, who threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt.
