Basketball Game Preview: Lemont Lemont HS vs. Rosary Royals

The Lemont Lemont HS will venture away from home to take on the Rosary Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lemont is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Thornton Fractional North on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lemont had to suffer through a 63-30 loss at the hands of Thornton Fractional North. The Lemont HS were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.

Meanwhile, Rosary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The contest between them and St. Edward didn't end well, with Rosary falling 48-29. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 538th, while the Green Wave are ranked 153rd).

Rosary's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Lemont, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Lemont came up short against Rosary in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 46-38. Can Lemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
