Baseball Game Preview: Buckley Griffins vs. Heritage Christian Warriors

The Buckley Griffins will take on the Heritage Christian Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Buckley is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Buckley had just enough and edged out New Roads 3-2.

Will Beaubaire made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

In other pitching news, Liam Land looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Beaubaire wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Katz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Heritage Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let de Toledo get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday.

Heritage Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Buckley, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Buckley beat Heritage Christian 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
